Ayurvedic Approach to Hypertension
Ayurveda is an ancient healthcare system that helps to maintain a healthy body in a natural way. According to Ayurveda, imbalance in any of the tridoshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha dosha) leads to health problems.
In Ayurveda, hypertension is known as "Rakta cappa vridhi". The vitiation of Vata and Pitta doshas are the main cause of this disease. Hypertension, according to Ayurveda, is an abnormality of Rakta dhatu (blood) which is popularly known as Shonita dushti (vitiated blood).
